Sometimes, it feels like teaching is looking as far into the horizon as you can, keeping in mind that your task is to go all the way across.  You or your classroom may feel like a drought, deprived of necessities, like sleep and resources.  But, even through the heat, you have to keep in mind that you are like a cactus that is filled with water.  You have what it takes to give "life."  You have a lot of knowledge and skills that you can share with your students.  If you network with people, and maybe even research a little more, you can take your students to meet people they've never met before, to visit places they've never seen or even heart of before, and ideas they never considered or knew existed before.  Then, your students can blossom into tall trees and beautiful flowers.  And unlike the man in "Waiting for Superman" who said that being an astronaut seemed as far away as the moon, your students can be whoever they want to be.
